Sampada Malla, a big name in Nepali TV and theatre scene and also a successful Indian TV screenswriter, is all set to make her Bollywood debut as the Creative Producer with ‘Kerry On Kutton’. The 29-year old who is the Creative Director of Nepal’s leading theatre group ‘Sarwanam Theatre’ splits her time between Mumbai and Kathmandu. The associate screen play writer of various Indian daily soaps such as ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, Bhagyavidhaya, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava, Navya, Uttaran, Parvarish and more is also the script writer of Nepal’s one of the most loved TV series ‘Singha Durabar’.
Her first Bollywood flick ‘Kerry on Kutton’ that stars Satyajeet Dubey, Aradhana Jagota, Aditya Kumar, Shivam Pradhan and Karan Mahavar in the lead roles; is directed by Ashok Yadav. The dark comedy film has released all over India today on July 1st. Sadly, it has not been released in the cinema halls of Nepal.
It’s a positive thing for the film that it is not clashing with any ‘big’ films this week. But Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’ that releases after five days on the occasion of Eid will definitely be a huge competition for this independent film. The film has been receiving some rave reviews ever since its trailer was released. We’ll have to wait and see how it performs at the box office. For now, here’s the trailer.
