One of the pillars of Nepali pop music, Nabin K Bhattarai, celebrates his 42nd birthday today on March 14th. Started his musical career in 1990 with a band called ‘The Steel Wheels’, he still remains one of the most loved pop singers. Unarguably one of the all time favorite singers of Nepali music lovers, he has so far released 14 albums, the latest one being ‘Slok’ which was named after his 4-year old son.

On this special occasion of this legend’s birthday, we bring you eight of his evergreen songs you can never ever get enough of.

1. Aankhama Timilai

Taken from his first solo album ‘Raharai Raharma’, ‘Aankhama Timilai’ was the first song that got him straight into the hearts of every Nepali pop music lover.

‘Sanjha Pakha’ was one of the most popular songs from his second solo album ‘Aabhas’. The romantic song perfectly sums up the feelings of a person who has fallen in love.

3. Timile Herda Kasailai

It won’t be wrong to say that at one point, we all can relate to this song titled ‘Timile Herdai Kasailai’ and that’s when we are madly in love with someone and we wish that all they think about is us, nobody else. Taken from his fifth solo album ‘Samarpan’, this song talks about the jealousy you feel when your beloved one gets close or talks to or even looks at anyone else other than you.

4. Raat Bityo Hera Timilai Samjhera

One of his most romantic songs, ‘Raat Bityo’ is one song everyone in love can relate to.

5. Ae Jhari

That moment when you’ve been waiting for days to see your loved one and when the day finally comes, it starts raining heavily and all you can do is, well, you can sing a song about it. ‘Aye Jhari’, taken from album ‘Timilai’, is one of his most popular songs.

6. Timi Hau Lakhau Ko Dhadkan

‘Timi Hau Lakhau Ko Dhadkan, Ma Pani Hu Ek Hajarauma’, the song written by Ranu Shrestha is quite a catchy one.

7. Yahi Ho Ta Maya

This song in collaboration with Pranil Timalsena is one of his most soothing songs. Don’t we all just love this number? And let’s just confess it, all of us boys used to have a huge crush on the model of this video when we were teenagers. Hoina ra?

8. Saanjh Dhaldaichha

Let’s just admit it, we all loved the Nepali pop videos made around mid 2000s and we miss them badly. Most of the music videos these days make no sense. The music video of ‘Saanjh Dhaldaichha’ made us sad everytime we used to watch it. The song taken from Bhattarai’s seventh solo album ‘The Blue’ is undoubtedly one of his finest works.
