‘Champion’ Trailer: Here Comes The First Nepali Film Based on Cricket


There’s no doubt that cricket is becoming as popular as football in Nepal these days, all thanks to our national and U19 teams’ spectacular performances in recent years. Right when the people are hooked on cricket, how could our film industry could remain behind in taking the opportunity to make a film based on the most popular sport presently. The trailer of Champion, the first Nepali film based on cricket, has been recently released. The skipper of Nepal national team, Paras Khadka, launched the trailer in an event recently. The film which is about the dream of a youngster to become a world class cricketer and his struggles to make his nation proud internationally with his strong determination and hard work, is produced by Rita Pokhrel and directed by B.B. Phuyal. Dikpal Karki, who had debuted with ‘Rang Baijani’ last year, will be seen playing the lead role in the film scheduled to release on February 26th.
