Nepal Beats India to Become SAFF U-19 Champion

KATHMANDU, AUG 29: In a very close encounter here at ANFA Complex, Satdobato; the hosts Nepal have defeated the defending champions India to become SAFF U19 Champion. The interesting match went into penalty shoot outs after the final score remained 1-1. Nepal was able to turn all the five penalty shoot outs into goals while India missed one.

The senior teams of the two countries had recently met in the World Cup Pre-Qualifiers where India forced Nepal out of the race to the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia after just two games.

India had so far been the best team in the ongoing SAFF U19 Cup having remained unbeaten and had not conceded a single goal in the three matches. Team Nepal has definitely won big today and each one of the team player has to be credited for this win. Congratulations Nepal!!
