Priyanka Karki Shoots For TNM to Spread The Awareness #StopViolenceAgainstWomen

Not a single day goes these days when we don’t see, hear or read the news of rape and various other kinds of violence against women in Nepal. The ugly truth is that more than 80% of such cases go unreported. It’s even hard to imagine how horrible the situation is.

Actress Priyanka Karki recently shot for TNM magazine to raise awareness on the same. The photographs taken by Shashank Pradhan amazingly depict how it is to be a victim of such crimes. Sakil Kunwar has done a splendid job with the make-up.

Talking about the issue of violence against women, Karki says, “So many times violence starts at home, so many go unreported since families think it will bring shame to the family. So many blame the women, “maybe you did something to provoke him”, “your skirt is too short”, “and why were you out that late at night?” The way the society thinks needs to change.”
